Pieksämäki Sports federation

Pieksämäki Sports Federation is a non-govemmental organisation for over 5000 people from Pieksämäki area. This special sport-club has 31 member organisations.
The aim of the Federation is an equal sports culture, where all people from Pieksämäki area shall have equal opportunities to participate, act and make decisions in sport. PSF aim is also to improve the local sport clubs conditions and ability to respond to the changing requirements of physically active people.

• Organisations action is based on it’s member organisations co-operation and “doing together”. The meaning and the principles are:
• Develop sport- and work with young people
• Look after Pieksämäki area sport clubs benefits

Promoting gender equality is an equal sports culture in which both women and men, girls and boys have the same rights to practice, act and decide.

EMPLOYMENT PROJECT

The aim of the employment project initiated by the Pieksämäki Sports Federation is to create jobs for 100 people during the project (2009-2013).

Aims:

  providing work, training and education for unemployed people

  preventing social exclusion

  finding new sources of employment within the sports sector

  developing sports organisations as employers

  improving conditions for the functioning of civic organisations

  increasing the availability of high quality sports services at the local level
